We are currently enjoying the great the opportunity to participate in the Q Ideas: Ideas for the Common Good conference in Washington DC this week and we are loving every minute of it! Q Talks are presentations given annually by thought leaders and practitioners on a variety of topics from church, politics and the social sector.
As Q’s tagline states, we have been immersed in a full day of topics and discussions on ideas for the common good. What ‘the common good’ means to each person is different and that differences makes the Q discussion space so interesting. It is allowing us to learn and grow side by side with the fellow non-profits, churches, NGO’s, and for-profit social organizations.
Today we listened to an 18 minute talk from nationally recognized author Andy Crouch. His theme? “Let There Be”. Crouch called listeners away from a distorted definition of power to one that can change culture for good. Our ears certainly piped up when he proposed the question, ”Will technology make us more, or less, fully human?” As an interactive agency, these are questions that move us to continually focus on our client’s voice and mission while still creating an interactive experience that will turn those who hear their voice into fans and donors.
